LGA delivery without GDM not tied to postpartum metabolic dysfunction

A study in Diabetes Care revealed that women without gestational diabetes mellitus who have a large-for-gestational-age delivery showed no signs of metabolic dysfunction as generally seen in those with the disease. Researchers studied women with nonGDM-LGA, women with GDM and women without either condition and found that those with gestational diabetes had higher fasting glucose levels and lower mean adjusted insulin sensitivity and beta-cell function than women in the other groups.
