Tips for surmounting BYOD security challenges

By 2014, 90% of enterprises will allow workers to use personal devices such as tablets and smartphones to conduct some level of company business, research suggests, creating a potential security nightmare for IT managers. Bring-your-own-device policies don't have to be scary, says Troy Harrison, an executive at Bomgar. Security issues can be mitigated with a few steps, such as mandating remote wiping applications in case a device is stolen or lost, employing strict network-authentication policies and having a remote support system in place, according to Harrison.
