Will teachers' choice of college affect students' performance?

Students' public-school academic performance may be linked to where their teachers went to college, a new study reports. Researchers at the University of Washington Center for Education Data & Research examined which teacher-training programs in the state were linked to the most academic progress for students, and found the differences between the best and worst programs were as significant as a different level of teacher experience. Similar research in other states is being funded by the federal government.
