Gigabit Squared picks Chicago for fiber broadband launch

Gigabit Squared has chosen Chicago as the first location for its multicity gigabit broadband network, which it plans to roll out in college towns across the U.S. The Gigabit Neighborhood Gateway Program, which is being launched in collaboration with Gig.U., will begin with high-speed fiber connections to 4,825 homes, businesses, schools and institutions around the University of Chicago.
