Hotwire has added an application to complement its travel service mobile website, making it easier for users to make the last-minute reservations that make up the bulk of mobile travel transactions. Hotwire notes that almost 1 in 5 hotel transactions are executed via mobile devices. "We see mobile as a big driver for the last-minute market -- this aligns really well with Hotwire's great last-minute inventory, so there has been strong mobile adoption by Hotwire users," said Melissa Matross, senior director of mobile at Hotwire.com.
