AAFP sends HHS list of burdensome federal regulations

The AAFP responded to an HHS request for input on burdensome regulations with a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius that included objections to the ICD-10-CM code set and to the cost of providing translator services to Medicare and Medicaid patients. The letter from Board Chair Jeff Cain, M.D., also noted overlapping documentation requirements for public programs and time wasted securing prior authorizations required by health plans.
