Adap.tv acquisition leads AOL past Google in video ads

AOL now serves more online video ads than Google thanks to its $405 million purchase of the video ad exchange Adap.tv. AOL served 3.72 billion video ads and reached 50% of U.S. online video viewers in September, beating Google's 3.24 billion ads that met 36% of the population. Adap.tv accounted for 84% of the video ads AOL served and will have "a more complete presence of AOL inventory" next year, said Adap.tv CEO Amir Ashkenazi.
