Economists predict stimulus will lift Japan economy

Economists polled by Reuters say they expect Japan's planned stimulus spending to be effective in sustaining the nation's recovery if, as expected, the funds are channeled to infrastructure and corporate tax cuts. "Although details of some spending measures will be determined in December, we estimate these fiscal measures will largely offset the negative impact from the consumption tax hike," said Nomura Securities economists in a note to clients.
