Emergency docs recommend early referral to palliative, hospice care

The American College of Emergency Physicians released its Choosing Wisely list at its annual meeting, and one of the five recommendations calls for ensuring that patients who are likely to be helped by palliative or hospice services receive them promptly. ACEP said early emergency department referrals can improve the quality and length of life.
