Fonterra plans to double its mozzarella plant capacity

New Zealand-based Fonterra Co-operative Group plans to make a $60.72 million investment to double its capacity for mozzarella cheese production in an effort to meet growing global needs in emerging food markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The expansion is expected to be completed in September 2015 and will increase Fonterra's mozzarella production capacity to 50,000 metric tons per year.
