Group looks to bring Gig U to Texas A&M

A member of the Gig U coalition promoting the advancement of gigabit broadband has proposed the development of a fiber network in Bryan and College Station, Texas -- home of Texas A&M University -- that would cover thousands of residences and businesses. The Research Valley Technology Council issued a request for information to operators interested in participating in the network, which would offer data rates as high as 100 Gbps.
