New teachers receive mentor support through Ohio program

New teachers in the Jackson Local School District in Ohio get four years of support with mentor teachers through the district's participation in the state's Resident Educator program. Mentors advise teachers on their practice, lesson pacing, and required state and district paperwork. "The first year has a lot of stress associated with it, and it is nice to have someone I can go to for support and encouragement," said first-year teacher Loren Sharpe.
