CDC: Health care disparities between Hispanics, whites remain

Large disparities remain in the level of health care and rates of illness between Hispanics and whites, despite efforts to close the gap, according to a recent CDC report. The report shows only 68.5% of the nation's 35 million Hispanics had a regular health provider, compared to 84.1% of whites in 2001-2002, and the 9.5% overall prevalence of diabetes among Hispanics is nearly twice that of whites, at just 5%.
