Animals helped influence National Zoo's new Asia Trail

When curators at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., set about designing the new $53 million Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat and Asia Trail, they got input from unusual sources -- the pandas themselves, whose preferences were observed and incorporated into the design. The Asia Trail also has lots of new green features to conserve energy, including green roof systems which reduce stormwater runoff and offer habitat for various creatures.
