Mexican officials: Watch out for imitation tequila

Mexican tequila companies are facing competition from global distillers who are trying to profit from tequila-like knockoffs and home-made imitations. They are especially concerned about copy-cat liquors made in basements or garages in Mexico that could be contaminated with cleaning products or oil, one industry expert said.
