Column: Travel agents need to promote themselves

Ann Petronio, a travel consultant and owner of Annie's Escapes in Cranston, R.I., says that travel agents should consider how they spend their marketing budget and ensure that they are promoting themselves and not just products. "Personally, I want my marketing dollars to promote ME," Petronio writes. "I want to communicate my unique value and give consumers a reason to call me for their next trip."
