Online e-mail services come with risks

Low-cost and free e-mail services are popular with small businesses, but Rom Mattesich, a retired telecom engineer who runs a family-owned construction firm in Florida, says glitches in how the services work can cause headaches and lose revenue. Mattesich lost critical contact information in the process of updating staff e-mail addresses. If e-mail is critical to how a business operates, it is too important to turn over to a free online service, says Roger Matus, CEO of Inboxer.
