Teacher brings history to life with creative lessons

An award-winning middle-school teacher in California brings history to life for his students, who participate in medieval reenactments. In one lesson, students took on the roles of royalty and peasants as their "castle" was threatened by balls of paper. Students of Peter Mates -- who was named Alameda County Teacher of the Year last week -- say his creativity makes learning "exciting."
