Teacher develops curriculum for high-school women's studies class

Florida's Boca Raton Community High School is enrolling students in a women's studies class, a first for Palm Beach County. "I mix current events with recent history and bring in an ancient figure and encourage the students to find that point in time where things changed," said history teacher Jonna Shutowick, who is responsible for the course curriculum. "We use a multicultural perspective, too."
