CFTC and SEC plan to discuss clearing of credit default swaps

Staff members of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission are set to hold a public round table this week to discuss clearing of credit default swaps. Regulators are working to implement the Dodd-Frank Act, which calls for CDS that can be standardized to be traded through "swap execution facilities" or exchanges and then be cleared.
