Dinneen: More work is needed to expand market for E15

Despite the disappointment over the partial waiver on E15, the Renewable Fuels Association will continue working toward removing the technical obstacles that are limiting the blend's market, according to Bob Dinneen, RFA's president and CEO. "It is now up to the industry to make a silk purse out of this sow's ear," he writes. Among the technical issues that must be resolved before E15 can be sold in all states, he writes, include health-safety testing, equipment testing, vehicle warranties, octane-rating and detergent certifications and liability protection for fuel marketers.
