Wi-Fi pirating might be slowing broadband adoption

Better Wi-Fi network security would boost in-home broadband penetration in the U.S., a study from the market research firm Mintel suggests. "Younger consumers appear especially likely to use a neighbor's Wi-Fi signal instead of subscribing at home as they are more likely to know how to find and connect to their neighbors' service," a Mintel analyst said.
