Army Corps begins levee projects in California county

The Army Corps of Engineers is working on projects to raise two levees in California's Yuba County. The Army Corps, however, ordered a stop to the construction of a $10.8 million ring levee in Marysville because the agency said the contractor failed to follow the project's exact specifications. "We're going through some tests for reconstruction. Until that's done and we determine how to proceed, there's no tentative plan for restarting," said Army Corps spokesman Carlos Lazo.
