UberMedia, owner of Twitter applications such as Echofon and Twidroyd, has branched out and started its own social network,, which CEO Bill Gross said is not meant to compete with Twitter or Facebook, because it's designed to facilitate conversation around interests instead of relationships or current events. Pieces of content called "chimes" will be sorted based on what users say they care about and how other members have reacted to the content, instead of in chronological order, as with most social networks.
