First lady touts success of HealthierUS School Challenge

First lady Michelle Obama on Monday recognized the 1,273 U.S. schools that are part of the HealthierUS School Challenge. She also applauded 12-year-old Alex Roman of Chicago, who ditched his couch-potato persona and adopted a healthy lifestyle. The sixth-grader at Walsh Elementary School said he gave up eating junk food in favor of a healthier diet, has participated in a dozen races and plays soccer and tennis.
