Opinion: Wikis are still an important tool in education

Wikis may have first appeared 16 years ago and predate most other social media, but they remain important tools for educators and schools, writes technology journalist Audrey Watters. Wikis highlight the nonlinear and fluid nature of knowledge and the writing process, and demonstrate the benefits of the "read/write Web," Watters writes. They are easy to use, require no additional software and are both transparent and collaborative, she adds.
