Texas state veterinarian weighs in on proposed traceability rule

USDA's proposed traceability rule would require official ID for animals moving interstate, which, Texas state veterinarian Dee Ellis recently told cattlemen, is a good thing. "The ability to track where diseased or at-risk animals have gone or been moved from is critical in ensuring a rapid response should an animal disease event take place," said Dr. Ellis.
