Exercise data in EHRs could boost care quality

The electronic Exercise Vital Sign program of Kaiser Permanente has shown promise in boosting care quality and patient treatment, according to a study in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. The initiative, which integrates a patient's physical activity data into his or her EHR, has collected important and accurate data that clinicians can use to better counsel and treat patients regarding their lifestyles.
