Students benefit from college's tech-career training

For some students, such as traditional ones just out of high school looking to join the workforce or older students making a career transition, programs such as Mechatronics at Tennessee's Motlow State Community College aim to help people learn skills needed in the workplace. The Mechatronics program includes a one-year certification program, as well as the opportunity to continue at Middle Tennessee State University, where students can earn a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
