FDA rolls out 2 drug guidelines right after shutdown's end

The FDA returned to work Thursday, immediately releasing two guidance documents that were being prepared before the government shutdown. The first revises a 2010 draft on the development of direct-acting antiviral treatments for hepatitis C. The second is the final version of guidance on the development of treatments for skin structure and acute bacterial infections. The FDA and NIH's budgets are set at last year's sequestered levels.
