NRF maps political strategy to fight anti-business forces

NRF and other business groups are formulating plans to fight the small group of Tea Party members blamed for the government shutdown. NRF will likely invest in a few primary campaigns, but the heart of the new strategy will center on sending representatives to town hall meetings to advocate the business perspective, NRF Chief Lobbyist David French said. "Politics is a contact sport. There's a robust movement by the Tea Party. If we're going to counter it, it's not going to be done effectively by using a couple of thousands of dollars," he said.
