There's more to running than just putting one foot in front of the other, with a study suggesting that how you position your feet can make a big difference. Most people land their strides heel-first, which places increased stress on the knees. However, landing forefoot-first can increase the risk of ankle and tendon injuries. "There is, in other words, no one invariably right and painless way to run," Gretchen Reynolds writes.
