Shutdown ends but delays remain for small-business borrowers

Borrowers of Small Business Administration, 504 and EB5 loans are experiencing delays that could last weeks, as federal agencies reopen after the government shutdown that halted progress on applications as of Sept. 30. Franchise market loan volumes had recently returned to longtime averages, but those numbers are likely to recede once again in the wake of the shutdown, said Mike Rozman, co-president and chief strategy officer of online lender and borrower marketplace BoeFly.
