Study: Health apps that boost productivity are flying high

Physicians are turning in large numbers to health applications that help them deal with the flood of paperwork related to the adoption of electronic health records, according to an HIMSS Analytics report, which tracked the progress of 22 IT apps. The report found that while some apps are reaching market saturation, others -- mainly involving speech recognition and virtualization software -- have shown broad appeal with few signs of slowing down.
