Study shows effect of U.S. energy-efficiency boom

Energy efficiency has done more than coal, oil or nuclear power to help the U.S. meet its energy needs since 1973, according to a Natural Resources Defense Council study. "The next big opportunity for energy efficiency is our homes and buildings, which are responsible for about one-third of U.S. global warming emissions," writes Peter Lehner.
