Some experts are warning that the newly launched overhaul of U.S. export regulations will threaten U.S. security, making it easier for hostile nations to obtain U.S. defense technology. Supporters of the rules update, however, say that sensitive items up for export will get extra review and that the export regulations as they stand today hamper commerce. "I have the utmost trust that the administration went through this entire process primarily from a national security lens," said Remy Nathan, vice president of international affairs at the Aerospace Industries Association. "At the end of the day, DOD holds the trump card on all things technology, when it comes to the exports."
