U.S. flower growers come together to nurture growth

Flower farmers from California traveled to Oregon recently to urge collaboration with their counterparts there in a push to reclaim some of the market share for America's cut flower farms. U.S. growers used to provide almost 65% of the nation's cut flowers, but that market share has dwindled to about 20% in the past 20 years amid a rise in South American imports, said Lane DeVries, current chairman of the California Cut Flower Commission.
