Vancouver board's first student trustee to represent peers

Nick Milum, a grade 11 student, was recently sworn in as the first student trustee serving on the Vancouver, Canada, school board. He was elected by his peers for the position and he also serves as executive of the Vancouver District Students' Council. "Students are the ones experiencing education. We should have the opportunity to voice our opinions in places that can be heard," he said.
