California To Allow "Morning-After" Pill Without Prescription

California Gov. Gray Davis has approved a bill allowing pharmacists to dispense the "morning-after" pill without a prescription. Washington is the only other state with a similar law, although 11 other states this year considered bills related to emergency contraception. The law will take effect Jan. 1, 2002.
