HBO's Kessler leverages on-demand technology

Eric Kessler, HBO's president of sales and marketing, has made the pay network's on-demand service, HBO On Demand, a central part of his strategy. Among the tactics employed by Kessler has been to air previews of new series such as "Entourage" and "Family Bonds." "The beauty of on-demand technology is it's very flexible," Kessler said. "We're creating HOD stunts so it's not just the first six episodes of a series, it's the four best episodes featuring Christopher, or fans' favorites or the best marital scenes between Tony and Carmela."
