Red Cross: Evacuees at hotels far less than reported

The American Red Cross says its staff misinterpreted data on number of hurricane evacuees being housed in hotels and motels, and the number of people is about 200,000, far less than the 600,000 widely reported last week. And the cost of the motel program is calculated to be about $220 million to $250 million, lower than the reported $350 million to $425 million.
