NBCU to reduce costs with job cuts, programming changes

NBC Universal plans to cut spending on traditional TV by up to $750 million as viewers and advertisers move to new media. Layoffs are expected across the company's news departments and the company says it will replace expensive dramas with game shows and other low-cost fare in the 8 p.m. time slot on NBC.
