McDonald's nears decision on beverage line expansion

McDonald's is close to deciding whether it will expand its U.S. beverage offerings, with plans to include specialty coffee, bottled sodas, smoothies and sweet tea on its menu, following a successful launch of its premium coffee blend. McDonald's hopes the enhanced beverage options will boost average domestic restaurant sales from $1.9 million to $2.5 million.
