Hallmark Channel gets marketing insight from greeting cards

Hallmark Channel will use two characters made popular in Hallmark greeting cards -- a cute cat-and-bunny combo named Hoops and Yoyo -- to promote the cable channel's Friday night movies from Thanksgiving to Christmas. "Our current management team has decided to step it up and make more of a connection to the mother ship," said Susanne McAvoy, Hallmark Channel's senior vice president for marketing.
