Senate likely to approve E-Verify funding

The Senate is likely to approve a measure that will extend funding for the E-Verify program for an additional three years, writes Brian Lawson. The program, which received House approval last week, requires federal contractors to verify the legal status of their workers using an electronic system. Meanwhile, some cities, such as Huntsville, Ala., are also requiring contractors to use E-Verify.
