Some state education budgets are still in crisis despite stimulus

Some states are still experiencing financial woes in funding education even after the infusion of billions of dollars in funding from the economic stimulus package. And the financial picture is expected to worsen for many states when stabilization funds provided for by the stimulus run out during the 2011 federal fiscal year. "K-12 education has come under pressure that it has not seen in decades," said one fiscal analyst.
