D.C. students can now stay for dinner

Ninety-nine out of 123 public schools in Washington, D.C., are now serving free or reduced-price dinners, joining 13 states that have also added dinners to school programs previously limited to breakfast and lunch. The D.C. dinners include milk and fresh fruit, and the program has the goals of reducing childhood hunger, fighting obesity and luring more children to after-school programs.
