EMC cites a robust profit, says it wants to rebuild Dell connection

EMC's third-quarter results included a 58% increase in profit, to $472.5 million, which was up from $298.2 million a year ago. Its product-sales revenue increased 22%, and services revenue increased by 17%. EMC chief executive Joe Tucci says the data-storage player also is rebuilding its partnership with PC maker Dell: "We are again in discussions to see if we could do something more meaningful and lasting."
