Now leaner, Chili's parent looks to boost profits

Brinker International downsized during the recession, selling an 80% stake in Romano's Macaroni Grill and divesting itself of its On the Border Mexican chain. Now the focus is on boosting sales and profit margins at Chili's, with a simplified menu, streamlined work practices and kitchen remodels that include replacing the grills with labor-saving, high-end ovens.
