Study: SPECT can be used for CRT patient selection

Researchers said employing serial gated SPECT with a single-injection radiotracer to minimize radiation exposure assisted in identifying the patients who would benefit from cardiac resynchronization therapy and directed left ventricle lead placement as well. The procedure involved implanting an inactive CRT device and injecting a single-dose radiotracer before gated SPECT and then activating the CRT device for a second gated SPECT.
